Rated as the Best Original Programming Service
Although video streaming giant Netflix (NFLX) may soon face increasing competition from media giants Disney, NBCUniversal, Time Warner and others, viewers show that they still prefer it to other services. According to a Morgan Stanley study, Netflix's original programs were rated best among over-the-top subscription services and premium TV.
A lot of 4041 people surveyed by Morgan Stanley said Netflix has the best original programming, compared to 39% in the 2018 survey. Time Warner's HBO was a distant second, giving 11% of the vote, down from 14% the year before. About 32% of the surveyed customers said they did not know which service had the best original programming.
Netflix's quality content means it can keep subscribers despite competition
Netflix, which added 18.4 million paid subscribers over the last two quarters now have a remarkable 148.9 million paid subscribers worldwide. But the company expects that subscriber growth will move slowly, especially in the lucrative US market.
However, the company spends billions of dollars every year to add to its already huge slate of original quality programming. While Netflix is facing stiff competition ahead, especially in the US, it may be able to keep subscribers with its original programming. The streaming giant still has opportunities to grow internationally, where it has experienced the bulk of its growth.
