It's not a dream – Neil Gaimans Sandman finally comes to television. After sticking to the limbo development for decades, Netflix is approaching an agreement with Warner Bros. TV for a serial order of an adaptation of the popular comic book production from DC Comics & # 39; Vertigo Imprint. Allan Heinberg ( Wonder Woman, Gray's Anatomy ) is slated to write and serve as a showrunner on the series. Gaiman will be executive producer with David Goyer.
When it was announced that a selection of Vertigo titles was going to New Line, Sandman was initially turned into a movie with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the lead role. He left the function three years ago after creative differences . Once again, the project goes back when Gaiman said there was an adaptation in the works while he was at Comic-Con. Gaiman and Goyer were also involved in the film adaptation.
When it's closed, it's another franchise to add to Gaiman's TV arsenal. He currently has American gods at Starz and the new Amazon series Good Omens . When the deal closes for Sandman it will join Lucifer on the streaming giant ̵
Sandman chartered a long, poetic history arch over his original 75th edition, which followed Morpheus, the master of dreams and member of a pantheon of immortal beings called The Endless, which personifies certain universal concepts that, together with dream, include death, desire, destiny, delirium, despair and destruction.
Netflix declined to comment on the deal.
