In a statement Sunday night that came minutes after Trump campaign members announced Sidney Powell’s resignation from the legal team, Murkowski said the president’s claims from several judges had been found “without merit.”
“A press campaign against state legislators to influence the election result is not only unprecedented, but not in line with our democratic process,” Murkowski said in the statement released via Twitter.
“It’s time to start the full and formal transition process,” the Alaska Senator concluded.

Murkowski is among a handful of national GOP-elected officials who have acknowledged Biden’s victory in the 2020 election. in doubt in recent weeks.
The president has launched a legal effort in Pennsylvania and several other states in the days since the election and has raised unproven allegations of widespread electoral fraud in the media. So far, the campaign’s legal efforts have not gained any traction.
Earlier Sunday, the president targeted another GOP-elected official who has urged him to concede the election, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R), by sharing a Breitbart story on Twitter claiming COVID-19 testing, which Hogan secured in a deal. with South Korean officials were “flawed” and useless by state officials.
