Microsoft has been promoting something called Windows 1.11 a moment ago. The whole promotion had all wondered what it was all about, and as it turns out, it is a new Stranger Things that promotes the company that is partner with Netflix for.
The new Windows 1.11 app is now available from Microsoft Store and if you are a fan of Stranger Things, you will definitely like the new app. It is essentially a Windows 1.0 experience inspired by the Stranger Things. The influence here is quite heavy, and the app even has lots of tips and tracks on season 3 of the Stranger Things. It contains graphics and music inspired by Stranger Things, so it's actually really cool.
The app lets you work through a bunch of different files and tracks and reveals more as you work through them, helping you save Hawkins from Mind Flayer.
Microsoft also launches an entire campaign for the partnership, including a Camp Know Where experience in its stores, where you can learn how to make a Stranger Things video or code your own game. It also releases a Windows throwback theme and a stranger theme 3 theme for Windows 10 users.
"It's basically the most abundant show companion experience ever," Microsoft says. And you know what? I actually agree.
But if you're not familiar with Stranger Things or don't like the show, there's not much to see here. I would say that the campaign was a bit out of proportion because not everyone really sees foreign things, so if you expected much more here, you are probably disappointed. But if you've seen Stranger Things last season, this thing is really fun.
