Earlier today, Microsoft support placeholders appeared briefly for two upcoming Surface Laptop 4 models – an AMD and an Intel. The placeholders were seen by @walkingcat:
The placeholders are already gone, but the German news site WinFuture provided more details last month. The AMD models will have the latest generation Ryzen 5 4680U and Ryzen 7 4980U, while the Intel models will have the brand new Core i5-1145G7 and Core i7-1185G7.
According to the WinFuture report, the AMD models will again only be offered to lower specifications. Intel models will go up to 32 GHz RAM and 1 TB of storage; The AMD models have a maximum of 16GiB and 512GB respectively. On the plus side, the AMD models are being moved to be available with 13.5-inch screens for the first time this year.
We expect pretty much official announcements about these and other Surface products at Microsoft’s Spring Surface launch event sometime within the next week or two.
Update: Winlatest spotted FCC archives for four “laptop devices” variants from Microsoft, which are probably Surface Laptop 4: C3K1979, C3K1958, C3K1952 and C3K1950.
