The company stated that the affected services include Outlook.com, Office.com, Power Platform, Dynamics365 and Microsoft Teams including Teams Live Event.
“Existing customer sessions will not be affected and any user logged in to an existing session will be able to continue their sessions,”
According to Down Detector, a site that tracks Internet outages, users reported problems with login, server connectivity, and Outlook. Downtime started around noon. 17 ET for Office 365, according to the website, and strongly affects users in California and Washington.
Microsoft initially attributed the outcome to a recent change to the platform, but later stated that it “did not observe an increase in successful connections after rolling back a recent change. We are working to evaluate further mitigating solutions while investigating the root cause.”
The company says it is now “redirecting traffic to alternative infrastructure to improve the user experience” as it continues to investigate the outcome.
