In Michigan, 63 out of 83 counties saw double-digit increases in positivity rates in the past week. Data show that COVID spreads rapidly in young people. People aged 20 to 29 and 30 to 39 have the highest rates.
According to state data, the hospitalization rate doubles every 12 to 14 days. At this rate, Michigan is rapidly approaching the peaks seen in December and last spring. If current trends continue, Michigan may exceed its previous highest admission levels by Monday.
