LEWISBURG, Ohio – Three people were killed Tuesday when a medical helicopter crashed into a wooded area in southeast Ohio, reports reported.
State Highway Patrol identified victims as pilot Jennifer L. Topper, 34, Sunbury Ohio, and aircraft nurses Bradley J. Haynes, 48, London, Ohio and Rachel L. Cunningham, 33, Galloway, Ohio, Associated Press reports.
There were no patients on board.
According to ABC News, the helicopter took Survival Flight Inc. from a hospital in Grove City and was about to pick up a patient from a hospital in Pomeroy, Ohio, when the crash occurred just before midnight. 7 in a forest area about 70 miles southeast of Columbus.
"We are, of course, destroyed," says Andy Arthurs, vice president of EMS services for Survival Flight Inc., ABC News says. "Our first concern is for the crew members and their families."

The Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board and the State Highway Patrol are investigating the cause of the collapse.
