Rep. Tom McClintock, R-California, said Wednesday he intends to hold the rebels who attacked the U.S. Capitol accountable and wondered aloud if the incident would have ever taken place if lawmakers responded to the summer chaos in cities across the country with it same. kind of decision.
“If we had prosecuted BLM and Antifa rebels across the country with the same determination over the past six months, this incident may not have happened at all,” McClintock said during a speech on the floor of the House of Representatives.
The House voted 232-197 on Wednesday to accuse President Trump of alleged “incitement to rebellion” in connection with the January 6 chaos at the Capitol.

“I know everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to make your voices heard peacefully and patriotically,” Trump said that morning after weeks of disagreement over the election result.
After his speech, Pro-Trump protesters stormed the Capitol, which sent Congress into recess and the Capitol building in lockdown. The attack left 5 people dead, including Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick.
