Marvel Studios releases new trailer for animated What if …? series

Disney + has had its fun What if…? animated series for a while now, after releasing a quick teaser at the end of last year, that was pretty easy on Marvel̵

7;s crazy potential What if feel. Today, however, Marvel Studios celebrated the long-awaited announcement of the show’s premiere date (August 11!) With an extended trailer that cuts right to the hunt – and by “the hunt” we mean good shit like Killmonger who saves Tony Stark from attack in the beginning of Iron Man, T’Challa, who leads the Guardians Of The Galaxy (and wearing a much cooler coat than Star-Lords, let’s be honest), what appears to be a Hawkeye Hulk (Hulkeye?), And best of all the arrival of Captain Peggy Carter. The idea, like What if comics that the series is named after are that these are alternative versions of the stories shown in the movies, presumably with light hooks like “What if Peggy Carter got the super soldier room?” or “What if Hulkeye?”

Jeffrey Wright plays Uatu The Watcher, where he gives the usual “I’m just here to see what’s going on, I’ll never ever intervene” speech that comic book readers know is complete and utter shit. The rest of the cast is equally impressive, with Marvel Studios calling pretty much everyone who’s ever been in one of those movies who’s not Chris Evans, Chris Pratt or Robert Downy Jr. – as far as we can tell. Some of the voices are immediately recognizable (no one makes a classic “Michael Rooker voice” like Michael Rooker, and it’s very clearly Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter), but IMDb, as unreliable as it is, also promises Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson , Natalie Portman, Jeremy Renner, Mark Uffalo, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan and even Chadwick Boseman. We’ve reached out to Disney to be confirmed on the list of players, but if it really is him, it would mean that this will be the last chance to hear him play T’Challa, and that this will be his last role. .
