Man Beats Sekiro: Shadows The Twice Using Only Donkey Kong Bongos

I praised Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice for its mechanics and its challenge in our review – while mentioning the game is not unfairly difficult.

This is apparently controversial, as the difficulty vs. accessibility debate erupted in the industry, to which I wrote a rebuttal on. I have been proven right by many gamers – including the latest who beat the game using only Donkey Kong bongos.

The livestreamer, ATwerking Yoshi, detailed how he beat the game using only his custom two Donkey Kong bongo controller setup. It reportedly took ATwerkingYoshi 131 resurrections and roughly 10 hours to complete the game in this new controller setup.

It's quite the sight to see the player beat the final boss in the game (SPOILERS) with only the two bongo controllers: [19659002]

ATwerkingYoshi is known for holding the world record for "Most Controllers Used to Beat Dark Souls 3."

His Twitch page notes he's beaten the game with a multitude of controllers, ranging from the Resident Evil 4 chainsaw controller, to a Dance Dance Revolution dance page, and even a fishing rod.

The bongo controllers aren't meant for precise input, which is what Sekiro typically demands, including the inability to control the camera in this setup.

However, ATwerkingYoshi was testing the theory that the game is actually more of a rhythm game, where percussion-style input would simply work. And it does, apparently.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is now available for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review for the game here (we love it and recommend it!).
