Mai Shiranui finally receives her gameplay trailer for The King of Fighters 15, which beats his girlfriend

So wait, it was not Mr. Big?

SNK’s had a streak that went on for a few weeks now, revealing brand new characters for The King of Fighters 15, but they have finally gone back to giving fans a closer look at a series that will definitely make people happy.

As I’m sure everyone already guessed from the silhouette this morning, Mai Shiranui is the latest character to receive her full gameplay trailer, though she̵

7;s apparently not the last member of the Women Fighters Team, as many had predicted.

Like most of the recurring cast, Mai players are likely to feel at home in KOF15, where most of her moves and specialties seem to perform much the same as they did in the last entry – just with a new graphic overhaul.

Many had assumed that Mai would be the last member of the Women Fighters Team, but since there was no confirmation at the end of the trailer, as was the case with Hero, Fatal Fury and Sacred Treasures, it probably means that the original group is not getting the band back together.

Mai, King and Yuri formed the first female team all the way back in ’94, although they only seem to fight together a handful several times with the last arrival in KOF13.

The Women Fighters Team has been among those in the series with the most shifts between entries. While Mai and King have typically been consistent members over the years, Yuri has jumped back and forth between them and the Art of Fighting Team, which has previously opened the door to other members, including Blue Mary, May Lee Jinju, Kasumi Todoh, Hinako Shijou, Alice Nakata and Li Xiangfei.

Since King and Mai are the most consistent members over the years, the apparent denial probably means Yuri has a far better chance of being on Team Art of Fighting again with potentially Ryo and Robert – though neither of them has been confirmed at this stage.

It also opens the door for former members to rejoin the ranks, or perhaps SNK will follow the pattern of matching the veterans with a beginner like we just saw in KOF14 with Alice.

May was one of the characters shown in the original announcement trailer for KOF15, where K ‘and Leona remain as the only warriors who have not yet received their spotlight.
