LONDON – The London police are looking for a man who is believed to have hit four people in a series of unconscious attacks.
The Metropolitan Police Service says two of the victims are in critical condition. Officers warn that there will be increased police activity in the Edmonton area of northern London following the four attacks that occurred over 15 hours on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Police say the attacks are not terror-related.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Smillie says the victims "seem to have been randomly chosen" because they were alone and vulnerable.
The attacks come in between an escalation of knife-related crime in the UK. Authorities have announced that some police forces have been given greater powers to stop and seek suspects without reasonable suspicion in an attempt to stop future attacks.
