1; NC State (3-1) returns home Saturday after three straight road battles to face rival Duke (1-4). Wolfpack and Blue Devils end at. 15.30 on Raycom Sports Network. Although the schools are only 21 km apart, the programs have not played since 2013. Duke won the last two and leads the series 41-36-1. NC State, however, won 14 out of 17 since 1990.

PRÆGAME

NC State will be without 11 scholarships for the season’s fifth game against Duke. Senior cornerback Chris Ingram, who has yet to play in 2020, remains out while junior junior cornerback Teshaun Smith and second-year security Rakeim Ashford is out of season with shoulder injuries. FIRST QUARTER

– Chase Brice fakes the handoff and keeps it away from the right edge. He picks up 9 yards up to 2nd-and-1st. Pack fills the race on the next game, 3rd-and-2 comes to Duke from his own 29. NC State fills the race again, and Duke chooses to point to 4th-and-1 from his own 30.

Person gets filled for a 3 yard loss and then 2 picks up the next game. NC State with a 3rd-and-11 coming up. Zonovan Knight enters the game in the backfield. Leary’s pass to Devin Carter is incomplete. Trenton Gill comes out to a point from Duke 44. Duke blocks the point and takes it back to a touchdown. The Blue Devils take a 7-0 lead with 9:51 left in the first quarter.

– After a blindside block is called against the NC state on return, the pack starts on its own 15-yard line. Zonovan Knight rushes three yards on the first game on the drive and then fumbles it in the next game. Duke recovers, starting at NC State 18.

Chase Brice had Noah Gray wide open over the middle of the end zone and knocked him over. 3rd and 10th come to Duke. Bring Takeaway Bone Out! Payton Wilson picks up Chase Brice’s passport and NC State starts from his own 11.

– Duke starts the drive on his own 14-yard line. Tanner Ingle blows the race down first, but Shyheim Battle called for PI in the next game. Duke gets a first down in NC State 28. Chase Brice completes his first pass of the game going for a first down after two missed tackles from NC State. Payton Wilson and Isaiah Moore combine to tackle losses at Chase Brice, and NC State gets the 3rd stop!

– The NC state’s drive starts from his own 27. Leary’s passport to CJ Riley is intercepted after Riley falls to the ground. No flag thrown, Duke takes over his own 33.

– Targeting calls confirmed. Jakeen Harris has been pushed out and Duke wants the next first down from NC State 35. Isaac Duffy is now in the game for Jakeen Harris. Duke Center Will Taylor down on the field. Isaac Duffy’s snaps at strong security today instead of Jakeen Harris will be his first defensive snaps of his career. Duke completes a pass for a short win, but the Devils called for block in the back. The first quarter expands to a final game in which Duke is now run back to a 3rd-and-18 from NC State 28. Chase Brice’s pass falls incomplete. End of 1Q: Duke 7, NC State 0.

Second quarter

Duke makes 46-yard FG and takes a 10-0 lead with 14:55 to go in the first half. Leary avoids pressure, rolls out, throws it to Thayer Thomas, the pass is knocked out of his hands and Emeka Emezie comes down with it. All in all, it’s a first down for NC State after a 15-yard catch on Pack 47. Leary finds Carter over the middle for a first down on the next game. First and 10 from Duke 30. Leary’s pass to Devin Carter is caught and he is run off the field at the 1-yard line. Jordan Houston gets his hand and hits it into the end zone for a 1-yard TD! Duke 10, NC State 7 with 10:44 left in the first half.

– Tanner Ingle makes the tackle after a 3 yard win for Duke. Not quite sure what the celebration was after that game. Drake Thomas then wraps up Duke RB for a loss. Isaac Duffy gets his first tackle on third down to force a point. Running into the kicker called NC State Delbert Mimms. It looked like he barely got in touch with the punter’s toe, but it’s a five-yard penalty and a first down.
