EXCLUSIVE: Léa Seydoux’s trip to Cannes is in doubt after a positive Covid test, the deadline may reveal. A representative of the actress, who has four films in this year’s Cannes selection, says Seydoux is at the end of her recovery and is asymptomatic and fully vaccinated, but she will remain at home in Paris out of an abundance of caution, after the advice of her doctors. She was originally scheduled to arrive at the festival yesterday, but did not travel.
It remains unclear whether Seydoux will be able to attend press events and premieres of its four Cannes features: Wes Andersons The French consignment, Arnaud Desplechins Deception, Bruno Dumont̵
The French shipment will premiere in Cannes on Monday night Deception on Tuesday, The story of my wife on Wednesday and France on Thursday.
For now, her representatives say she will rest and will only travel if she receives a clean health declaration in compliance with Covid protocols introduced by the festival and the French government. She and her team take a cautious approach to keeping festival guests, her filmmakers and cast members protected.
Seydoux is on the cover of Deadline’s special printed number produced for the Cannes Film Festival.
