Kyle Rittenhouse: Kenosha shooter suspected released after posting $ 2 million bail

Rittenhouse was released Friday afternoon after the $ 2 million was sent through his attorney, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. David Wright told CNN.

CNN has reached out to attorneys for Rittenhouse for comment.

Rittenhouse faces charges of allegedly killing Anthony M. Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum and wounding Gaige Grosskreutz during protests that followed the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha in August.

Kenosha County Commissioner Loren Keating said when determining the bond earlier this month that the court considered Rittenhouse a “flight risk” because he could face a “mandatory life sentence or at least significant time, probably decades of imprisonment” if convicted.

Rittenhouse faces two charges of murder in the deaths of Rosenbaum and Huber, and a felony attempted murder in the Grosskreutz case.

He is also charged with possession of a dangerous weapon while under the age of 18, a misdemeanor, according to court records.

A lawyer for Rittenhouse has claimed that there is evidence that the teenager acted in self-defense.

Rittenhouse is due back in court for an initial hearing on Dec. 3.
