KFC owns distant Australian lobbies for a Michelin star

One of the charms of KFC is that it differs no matter where you go in the world. In China, the franchise serves soy milk drinks and marriages; In India you will find a variety of vegetarian dishes; In Israel, the fast food chain developed a milky soy powder, which is substituted as a food ingredient for fried chicken.

In Australia, however, KFC is gourmet – or at least strives to be.

The owner of the KFC outpost in Alice Springs – located in the northern territory of the great country, halfway between Darwin in the north and Adelaide in the south – believes the fresh local ticket served in his restaurant is worth a Michelin star. despite the lack of a wine list and well-all-inclusive elegance.

"We use fresh chickens that are delivered every day in the store and handpicked in our kitchen by our chefs." Sam Edelman, whose thesis is original recipe, says Metro .co.uk. "There are some skills involved."

Edelman has even gone as far as starting a Facebook group for the campaign, "Kentucky Fried Chicken deserves a Michelin Star", which occasionally produces videos in which he defends his restaurants and reads the opinions of fans. (Some just write in to say he looks like a fake prince Harry.)

The fast food enthusiast can have a case when looking at the literature. Michelin assesses five criteria when considering restaurants for guidance: using quality products that demonstrate a championship of taste and cooking techniques that blend in with the chef's personality in the kitchen, providing value for money and maintaining consistency of the product. A two star restaurant has all these and is also considered "worth traveling".

Because his KFC is in the middle of nowhere, Edelman thinks it easily fits this criterion.

"We have people traveling hundreds of kilometers to come, so try our chicken," he told Metro. And in a Facebook post from June 15, the first mention of his Michelin ambitions, he adds: "We had someone driven over 500 [kilometers, or more than 310 miles] to the Alice store the other day. So Edelman went to them. KFC flew Edelman to Michelin's door to prove whether his meat is worth its salt (and spices). The chicken enthusiast has been traveling to Paris and is shown on French television that spread the gospel.

Whether he gets the coveted star, he has set some pride on the Alice Springs community, which a few months ago was so plagued by crime that Edelman had to close his KFC early.
