Alex Trebek said this about retirement

In his book from 2020 The answer is …, Alex Trebek touched on the frequently asked question of his retirement. Properly shaped, the father of three children handled it with humor.

“I find that the older you get,” he wrote, “the harder it is to maintain your concentration. You can get these slip-ups in casual conversation with friends. But you can not get away with it as a host Danger!

“When it comes to that point, I go away. You can not see Johnny pulling me out on stage. ‘Here, Alex, let me wipe the saliva off your chin. Okay, go ahead and start the game. ‘”

The legend of the game show is felt no matter who hosts it Danger!, it will continue to be a daily sight on American television.

Danger! will be just fine. It does not matter who the host is. It is a quality program. I think Danger! can continue forever. ”

Here’s what Ken Jennings had to say about replacing Alex Trebek

There have been countless names associated as possible successors to Alex Trebek: Betty White, Will Ferrell, George Stephanopoulos and many more.

But the name that most games are on is ‘Ken Jennings’. As someone who was almost on the payroll in 2004 and reported to Sony Studios for 75 games, by Jennings Danger! and his way to the company caf. “I just saw Alex pretty recently when we promoted the recent one Danger! Jennings told Fox News in April 2020, “and he hung in there really well. Danger! production has closed for the pandemic and he is still itching to get back to work. ”

“It’s a guy who loves his job,” he continued, “and I think that’s what keeps him healthy and alive at this point. I hope he is the host Danger! forever.”

The executive producer of ‘Jeopardy!’ says ‘We do not shop’

In a conversation with The Ringer, ny Danger! producer Mike Richards made it very clear: Alex Trebek is hosting the show. The show does not want to replace him. If there could have been a sound component in his statements, a hand slamming on a table would have been heard.

Richards’ point is a considerate and realistic one: talking about who should replace Alex Trebek happens first before Trebek himself starts the dialogue.

“If you were sitting in my morning meetings with Alex when he was going through the shows and the tracks and you saw him host the show – he’s hosting the show,” Richards said. “We are not trading. He’s our guy and he’s our guy until he tells us he’s not our guy and then we can have another conversation. I just do not think it is appropriate to have that conversation before Alex comes to me and says, ‘OK. This is my plan. ‘”

If you hear a collective sigh of relief, Richard’s comments are reassuring at a time when Danger! fans feel a little worried about losing Trebek, to his illness or simply to retirement.
