Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock have two children together. Clarkson cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

Kelly Clarkson is proud to be a working mom.

“Host of the Kelly Clarkson Show” and “The Voice” coach took to Twitter Thursday to defend her work-life balance after a troll on social media said her “marriage did not work” due to Clarkson’s hectic schedule.

“Wow,” the mother of two tweeted. “To shame a woman who has a good work ethic is a great mother and who steps up and fills in when a friend asks for a benefit because that’s actually what ‘good old country girls’ do.”

The “American Idol” alum filled in for Simon Cowell on “America’s Got Talent” this week after the British star broke several parts of his back during an electric bicycle accident.

“I’ve been waiting years for this,” Clarkson wondered during the show Tuesday. “I love Simon, but I’m getting used to this chair. I’m just saying, take your time. I can use another job.”

While Clarkson received praise for quickly stepping in for her longtime friend, including Cowell herself, a social media user blamed Clarkson’s busy schedule for her divorce.

“Now Kelly is taking Simon’s place … no wonder her marriage didn’t work out,” user @ AnnieB64135937 tweeted Thursday. “Surprise she has time for her kids … not the good old country girl we fell in love with … it’s about Kelly being on TV … and no one else.”

The “Miss Independent” singer filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock in June after nearly seven years of marriage. They share daughter River, 6, and son Remy, 4.

Clarkson told the Twitter user that “this can not be the one you are deep down. I have more faith in your heart.” She ended her message, “Aim higher thank you.”

In 2019, Clarkson said her family remains her top priority despite taking on more work commitments.

“I love to be busy,” Clarkson told People magazine. “The schedule is intense, but I actually work really well under pressure.”

She continued: “When we made the schedule for the (talks) program, I was like, ‘I have to drop my kids in school.’ “And I’m always the one who puts them to bed. You just have to prioritize and juggle and get people to know it’s an important thing. And don’t feel guilty about it.”
