It can be scary and soul-destroying to be famous, especially when you are a child. That’s what Justin Bieber has been trying to tell fans, and that’s what he sang on “Saturday Night Live” in his heartbreaking new song “Lonely.”
He quietly started the song behind the scenes in his dressing room and sang to himself in the mirror.

He walked through the hall of the studio to the stage and sang, “Everyone saw me sick, and it felt like no one was giving a [shit]. They criticized the things I did as an idiot kid. ”
Bieber released the music video of the song Friday at midnight. It contains his vocals, but 14-year-old Jacob Tremblay from “Room” plays a young Bieber who struggles with success and pain.
Earlier on “SNL”, Bieber belted yet another new song, “Holy,” a mix of religion and love for wife Hailey Baldwin Bieber on a set that looked like a crib with a neon cross. He was joined by Chance Rapperen, his collaborator on the field.
