"Empire" co-creator Lee Daniels put the nail in the coffin of Jussie Smollett's race on the show after Variety had written a story that said the author's space on the show was preparing for the assaulted star's return to the second half of last season.
"These are not facts," Daniels tweeted. "Jussie does not return to the empire."
Daniels asked the question of Smollett's future on the show in April and refused to commit to an answer and instead said, "It's a conversation we have right now."  Smollett's status on the show had been in the air ever since he was accused of decaying an attack on himself earlier this year. He was accused of the incident, but the charges were eventually dropped.
The network had previously announced that "there are no plans for Jamal & # 39; s character to return to & # 39; Empire. & # 39;"
Smollett's rep said in April: We have been told that Jussie will not be at & # 39; Empire & # 39; at the beginning of the season, but he appreciates that they have extended their contract to keep Jamal's future open. "
Smollett was suspended from the fifth season's last two episodes back in February.
