Jared Dudley agrees to deal with L.A.

Veteran Steps Forward Jared Dudley has agreed a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Dudley spent this last season with the Brooklyn Nets.

Dudley will stretch the floor to LeBron James-led Lakers. This is the first step LA has made this offseason in the free agency after trading for Anthony Davis a few weeks ago.

With Nets this past season, Dudley averaged 4.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 aids while shooting 42.3 percent off the field, 35.1 percent from bow and 69.6 percent from free throw line.

Of course, the Lakers are trying to sign the superstars little forward Kawhi Leonard. The Purple and Gold missed the playoffs in the first season of the LeBron era. Things must be very different next season with Davis in the fold.

Dudley's statistics will never jump out of the page, but he is a good veteran to have in the closet and will beat early shots when you need him to. The Lakers need as many 3-point shooters as they can get around James and Davis. The team also tries to get Danny Green, who played with Leonard on the Toronto Raptors this past season and with San Antonio Spurs.
