Jackson County Public Health reports 63 new cases of coronavirus

MEDFORD, Ore. – Jackson County Public Health reports 63 new cases of coronavirus.

Health officials report that a previously reported case has been removed from the total number of cases.

These updates bring the total reported COVID-19 cases in Jackson County to 3,303.

Four new COVID-19 deaths, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 23 in Jackson County.

Thanksgiving will be different this year because of the pandemic. Public health officials would like to remind the public of holiday and winter meetings, their advice to follow:

Celebrating virtually or with members of your own household (who consistently take steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19) poses the lowest risk of spread.

A household is anyone who currently lives and shares a common space in a residential unit.

This may include family members as well as roommates or unrelated persons.

People who do not currently live in the housing unit, such as university students returning home from school for the holidays, should be considered as part of different households.

Personal gatherings that bring together family members or friends from different households, including returning college students, pose different levels of risk.
