Iowa Hawkeyes won their first round match-up with Cincinnati on Friday in a back-and-forth multi-round and lead-change game. The final score was 79 to 72.
Cincinnati took an early two-digit lead over Hawkeyes in the first half, but Iowa returned to only the five-half track. After several management changes in the second half, the game was tied to 59 with just over six minutes to play.
Iowa stretched the lead to nine late in the fight and hit their free throw to seal it in the last few seconds.
