A former Covid-denying influencer died just 33 years old after contracting the deadly virus while taking a trip to Turkey.
Dmitriy Stuzhuk was discharged from the hospital in Ukraine, but he was rushed back and his condition quickly deteriorated.
The super-fit fitness coach promoted sports and healthy lifestyles to his one million followers, but his death was eventually caused by coronavirus-related heart complications.
His ex-wife and the mother of his three children Sofia Stuzhuk, 25, announced the news to his fans.
After getting the virus, which has now killed more than a million people worldwide, he shared a message with his fans to warn them.
Stuzhuk wrote on social media: “I want to tell how I got sick and to warn everyone strongly.
“I was the one who thought Covid did not exist.
He continued: “COVID-19 IS NOT A SHORT-LIFE DISEASE! And it is heavy.”
Stuzhuk suspected he had coronavirus when he woke up with a swollen throat and difficulty breathing. He then took a test when he returned to Ukraine and tested positive before being admitted.
He continued: “The hospital is completely full of people, some of whom are being treated in corridors.”
The coach said he needed a ventilator to breathe, but after eight days he was able to leave the ward he was in at the hospital in Kiev.
He added: “At home, as they say, heals the walls – my condition is stable.”
A few hours later, however, he was rushed back to the hospital, where Sofia said he fell unconscious.
Sofia – who has five million followers – wrote as he fought for his life: “Dima (Dmitriy) had problems with his cardiovascular system.
“His heart is not working.”
Medicine said he suffered clinical death, but they restarted his heart.
She wrote: “His condition is extremely serious. No one can do anything about it.
“I did everything I could to keep the father of my three children alive. But nothing depends on me now.”
A ‘shattered’ Sofia announced her death.
The couple had three children David, Lola and Olivia. The youngest is only nine months old.
The couple split up six months ago, but recently said they were back on good terms.
She wrote: “There are only warm memories left, three beautiful children and valuable experience.
“God, it’s so awful to realize he’s not with us anymore.”
