The 91. Academy Awards may be hostile, but its nominations will be led by Kumail Nanjiani of "The Big Short" and Tracee Ellis Ross of ABC's "Black-ish." The two actors will announce the nominees live starting from 5:00 pm PT / 8: 20:00 ET Tuesday, January 22.
All 24 Oscar categories will be announced in a two-part live presentation via global live stream at Oscar.com, Oscars.org, Academy Digital Platforms – Twitter, YouTube, Facebook – a satellite feed and local broadcasters.
First half will see nominations for nine categories. Not listed in presentation order, they support actor, supporting actress, score, animated short film, live action short film, costume design, movie editing, audio editing and audio mixing.
In the second half, 5:30 am PT begins, the nominations will be announced for the remaining 1
Expected to lead the way in the big categories are Bradley Cooper's "A Star Born", Alfonso Cuaron's "Roma", Yorgos Lanthimos "" Favorite "and Adam McKay's" Vice. "Read all Variety 's nominative predictions here.
