What are light blue marks a sign of?
"Light bruises" refer to bruises that appear undamaged or bruised from minor trauma that would not have caused bruising in the past.
Possible causes of light blue marking are to take blood thinners and steroids. The effects of chemotherapy can also cause slight blue marking. Aging is another factor because blood vessels become more fragile when people get older.
Light blue marking may be a sign that a person does not get enough vitamin K found in green vegetables, broccoli and germ in that diet. In rare cases, slight blue marking may be indicative of blood, bone marrow or lymph node cancer. Liver disease can also be a factor.
What if a bruise doesn't go away?
See a doctor if you have a blue mark that lasts longer than two weeks without changing. It may not be a blue mark at all, or it may be due to an underlying problem. Tell your doctor if you have recurrent bruising for no apparent reason.
A bruise accompanied by considerable pain and swelling also guarantees medical attention. It can cause a major bleeding under the skin, especially if you have had a significant fall or injury.
