This week, Phoenix Labs developer officially launched Dauntless the free-to-player monster hunting adventure game. In true Mon-Hun fashion, Dauntless offers players a set of systems to learn and tons of different ways to customize their character.
However, some of the coolest looking skins and customization items in Dauntless require Platinum, which is the game's paid currency. An order to acquire Platinum, as well as with other paid currencies in free-to-play games (V-Bucks in Fortnite or Silver in Destiny 2 ), players will need to convert real money into Platinum
When Dauntless was in beta on PC, the Platinum conversion rate required a ton of math, but now Phoenix Labs has made the whole process simple. 100 Platinum is equal to $ 1, but players can get bonus platinum depending on how much they buy from the Store
There are also other ways to get Platinum during this initial dauntless launch season. Phoenix Labs has rolled out the Arcslayer Pack that includes 5,400 Platinum and a bunch of cosmetics. There is also a Timely Arrival Pack for those who play the game during its launch that includes some Platinum. Dauntless but at a very slow rate and in small quantities. Like many free-to-play games (Fortnite and Apex Legends, for example), Dauntless has a Battle Pass that offers items for reaching various levels in the Pass. There is a free version of the pass and an elite version of the pass, with laughter requiring a purchase of $ 4.99 or 500 Platinum.
Part of the battle pass, players will earn 25 Platinum at a couple intervals and 50 Platinum in the Elite Battle Pass. 75 platinum every 10 levels or so is not a bad rate but it does allow players to buy some of Dauntless more expensive skins or cosmetic items. That being said, players can buy a set of dyes to further customize their armor if they so choose. Serious server issues, but things will change as time goes on. Perhaps Dauntless will introduce more ways to get Platinum for free, but right now the options are limited
Dauntless is available for free on PS4 and Xbox One, and PC through the Epic Game Store
