Arsenal missed the chance to skip rivals Tottenham and went third in the table as they went down 1-0 to Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Phil Jagielka – who was first called to the start line by Marco Silva in the 11th hour after Michael Keane was poorly scored, became the only goal in the game after only 10 minutes after Arsenal's inability to clear a Lucas Digne -throw.
The defeat sees Gunners in fourth place with all four top four competitors now playing 32 games.
Gunners is a point behind Tottenham who was not in action at the weekend and levels at points with Chelsea facing West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
