VALLEJO (CBS SF) – Emergency herds responded to a balloon from Sonoma with 11 people forced to land on a bog near Skaggs Island outside Vallejo on Sunday morning.
No one was seriously injured.
The balloon pilot reported that high gusts of wind that pushed the balloon toward power lines necessitated the landing around noon. 11, Vallejo said firefighters on social media.
Shannon Eckerman, a spokeswoman for Sonoma Ballooning Adventures, told the CPIX that the 11 people on board, about half were employees.
She said that because a boat was not immediately available to help the crew member cut down, a CHP helicopter was requested and all fled from the bog.
Solano County Sheriff's Office, California Highway Patrol and Vallejo Fire Department responded to the incident.
According to Eckerman, there was no damage.
