Have You Figured Out The "Destiny 2" Tribute Hall's Secret True Purpose Yet?

I think I speak for most of the Destiny community when I say that yesterday's update brought to lot more than I was expecting, I thought that the Moments of Triumphs were simply going live, but instead we got those, but also the Tribute Hall, a sprawling palace that Calus has Built to our achievements with 50 statues / holograms to place in honor of ourselves … itself. Also the Bad Juju quest and its catalyst are threaded in as well.

Calus yet, considering the ones he sells are crazy expensive and the entire discount system is kind of bugged right now as well, but the ones he sells have a unique property to them, and one that reveals the true purpose of the Tribute Hall, which is more than just a collection of monuments.

First, you can get primary, energy and power supplies that appear on the walls and refill your ammo. Huh, okay. Then you unlock a shard that works like an eternal orb that refreshes your super energy. Weird. You can access unlocked vault, available straight from the entryway, and then once you start buying the planetary holograms, it all makes sense.

Unlock five races worth of "simulated" enemies that you can spawn into stationary tribute stands in the hall. But these aren't just for display purposes, you can shoot them. They die, and respawn.

Oh my god, Calus built us a shooting range. Bungie built us a shooting range

Destiny players have been asking for something like this forever but I don't think anyone was expecting it to show up here. The tribute stands spawn not just different types of enemies, but different versions including red bars, orange bars and yellow bars so you can test your damage across all types. And since they are "live" enemies, killing them will proc perks like Outlaw or Rampage.

This may not be a huge benefit to players, but the harder core has wanted something like this for otherwise because testing, DPS or builds requires you to go murder poor Greg the Ogre in a lost sector or something similar and not terribly convenient. But here, you can test things endlessly with infinite ammo, supers and access to your vault for fast swapping. It's essentially the Tower but you can murder everyone and they endlessly.

I am pretty much running out of adjectives to praise Bungie these days, because they are just firing on all cylinders in Destiny 2 these days, going above and beyond pretty much any Other phase I've seen this series. I am deeply impressed with the content they've put out in Opulence, and the Tribute Hall is just one more piece of evidence that the future is bright for this series.

Now, get out there and shoot some simulated Thrall.
