Kristen told The Guardian’s G2: ‘It’s a gay Christmas movie and I know it’s an annoying thing to feel it just outside the bat, but to me it’s extremely attractive and sounds like … a giant exhalation. ”

Kristen went on to admit that it was important as she did not grow up with movies that had ‘two female leads at the center of a love story’, and she would love to have seen more movies with an LGBTQ + couple.

The actress said it ‘feels good’ to be a part of the new rom-com, she continued: ‘I did not grow up with a film that had such an extensive ambition that had two female leads at the center of a love story, and not in this format.

‘Not to say that not much queer content has been created over the years, there have been really beautiful and really important touchstones. But at the same time, it’s not something I grew up with and I would love it. ‘
