Gov. David Ige today announced eight “trusted test partners” for travel between the countries to the counties of Kauai and Maui.
Passengers flying from Hawaii to Maui or Kauai can circumvent the mandatory 14-day quarantine if they take an FDA-approved nucleic acid amplification test from the CLIA-certified laboratory no earlier than 72 hours before departure and get a negative result.
Travelers must register and upload their coronavirus test results to the Safe Travels Hawaii account and must bring the test result with them on arrival so that airport screeners can review the result according to a press release from the governor’s office.
Those who choose not to take a pre-travel test, or who do not arrive with a negative test from a trusted test or travel partner, will be subject to the 1
Maui Mayor Michael Victorino announced Friday that Maui residents traveling for medical purposes the same day or overnight on another island may be exempt from the test requirement with appropriate documentation.
The eight reliable test partners for travel between countries are:
>> Clinical Laboratories in Hawaii: Visit clinicallabs.com to schedule an appointment and for more information on placements and how to achieve lab results. All laboratory tests require an order from an authorized health care provider in Hawaii.
>> CVS Health (Longing): Travelers can schedule an appointment up to two days in advance at select CVS Pharmacy transit locations. Tests are available for ages 12 and older. Pre-registration is required. Info More information can be found at cvs.com/selfpaytesting.
>> Hawaiian Pacific Health: Tests are offered at Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women & Children on Oahu and Wilcox Medical Center on Kauai in partnership with Clinical Labs of Hawaii. Appointments are required in Kapi’olani and must be scheduled online at clinicallabs.com/covid. No agreement is required with Wilcox. >> Kaiser Permanente (members only): Schedule a test online, or contact the call center or nurse counseling in the traveler’s home region for planning instructions. Kaiser Permanente members returning to Hawaii can call the Away-from-Home Travel Line at (951) 268-3900 for planning instructions. Information can be found at kp.org/travel.
>> Minit Medical: Schedule tests online before traveling to other islands. Minit Medical has three clinics on Maui with tests available. Agreements are required; call (808) 667-6161 or log in to Minitmed.com.
>> Walgreens: Testing is available at no cost to qualified individuals who meet CDC criteria. Test available for ages 5 and older. All transit test locations operate outdoors and patients do not leave their vehicles. Agreements are required. Find more information at walgreens.com/covid19testing.
>> Urgent Care Hawaii: Sign up for ucarehi.com. Limited walk-ins can be accommodated; the results are sent within 24 hours. Call 797-7980 for more information.
>> Vault Health: Home testing with real-time audiovisual monitoring is available with Vault Health, the first FDA-approved saliva test. Test available for ages 5 and older.
