It was pure coincidence that ended the man’s ownership of his brand new silver Renault Megane, which police reveal on the Northampton Hub Specials Twitter channel. But common sense and obedience to the law could have prevented it. Shortly after driving the car out of the lot earlier in the week, the driver lost control of the vehicle and nearly crashed into a police car.
It was then – you guessed it ̵
“This vehicle has almost front-on with our engine,” says police. “The driver then told officers that he brought the car 30 seconds ago, and for once it was actually true. Unfortunately, he took chances not to insure it. And well, you all know what happens next. # Seized. ”
Since this bizarre incident was posted on social media, the jokes have not stopped coming in. “Gone in 30 Seconds,” a riff of the name of the cult film Gone in 60 seconds, is a favorite, however “From new car to no car” comes as a strong second. The point is that it is not a safe way to find yourself able to find alternative means of transport in the foreseeable future in the UK.
Not that this prevents drivers from taking their chances. Northamptonshire has been running a road safety campaign, Operation Journey, throughout October, and the results reveal that driving without insurance is the most common traffic offense. And it always ends up with the seizure of the vehicle, even when it is brand new.
