George Clooney, 60, and his wife Amal, 43, are ‘CONSULTED to be back in Lake Como with their twins’

George and Amal Clooney are reportedly ‘excited’ to be back in Lake Como for the first time in two years.

The actor, 60, and his wife, 43, are said to have driven out to their Italian villa earlier this month to celebrate their twins Ella and Alexander’s fourth birthday.

According to new reports, George and Amal’s friends are ‘very excited’ that the couple is back after not being able to see each other during the pandemic.

The family of four is said to spend the summer in their cottage, Villa Oleandra.

A source told People: ‘They did not spend time in Lake Como last year. This is the first time in two years that they are back in Italy. They seem excited to be back. Friends that they did not see during the pandemic are very excited that they are back. ‘

Although George and Amal are said to have been positive in their time at home at the height of the pandemic.

They added: ‘George and Amal took each day as it came. They have always prioritized family time, so they were very positive about all the extra time with the kids. They are the most amazing parents. George is such a funny dad. The kids love him. ‘

Last year, George talked about raising his two children and how ‘very different’ their personality is, even though they are twins.

In a speech to People in December, the actor said: ‘You learn so much with twins because you raise them both at the same time, born on the same day, but you realize how little it has to do with you.

‘They were the person they were supposed to be when they were born. Now all your hope is just to guide them together in the right direction. ‘

It was reported earlier this month that George had whispered his wife and their children to Lake Como before the twins’ fourth birthday.

A source told E! News at the time that the family ‘have not been there for two years’, but they are spending the summer in their family home, Villa Oleandra.

They added: ‘They brought their giant St. Bernard puppy, Rosie. They want to spend as much of the summer as possible in Lake Como. ‘

Meanwhile, the ‘Midnight Sky’ star – who married the human rights lawyer in 2014 – recently said he was not aware that anything was missing in his life until he met his spouse.

He said: ‘There are some people whose goal was: “I have to have children.” Mine was not. I did not look at life and went, “My life becomes unfulfilled without children.” I felt like I had a pretty full life.

‘Then I met Amal and realized that my life had been pretty empty. And then when you throw these two kids in there, you suddenly realize how incredibly empty it was. ‘

George admitted that fatherhood has also made his life less empty, explaining that having children has given him ‘everything’ that Hollywood could not.

He said: ‘[I have] a sense of belonging and a sense of home and unconditional love – all the things you hoped you could get from a really good career and a dog. You realize that this is much more than that. ‘

And the Ocean’s Eleven actor has since taught his young children to play pranks on their unsuspecting mother.

On The Today Show, he said: ‘My whole job is really to teach them terrible things. And I really enjoy teaching my kids to do things that shock their mother.

‘And it’s funny because you know, Amal, she wants to talk to a judge about a lawsuit in Sudan or a lawsuit in Myanmar … she’s having very serious conversations, and then my son comes in with a diaper on his head. This is a stroke of genius, you know. ‘
