Gavin DeGraw sang the national anthem and found himself face down on the ice.
DeGraw face planted shortly after finishing his rendition of the nationality prior to the start of the Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Predators and the Dallas Stars Saturday at the Bridgestone Arena.
Right after finishing the anthem, DeGraw took a step back and instead of his right foot stepping on the carpet, which is rolled out specifically for anthem singers so they don't slip, his foot was on the ice.
What was deGraw slipping, falling and wiping out on the ice.
It was an embarrassing moment for DeGraw, who had pop hits 'Chariot', 'I Don't Want to Be' and 'In Love With a Girl' in the 2000s. And his performance was his mistake-free.
DeGraw went on Facebook and said "Someone said," Break a leg. " I listened, "poking fun at himself.
Country music artist Stephen Cochran shared a story on Facebook or how he almost slipped before singing the national anthem.
Cochran said: "So I walked with the most about pronounced high step out and then back I think anyone had ever seen …. looked like a Tennessee walking horse … Anyway I feel Gavin DeGraw's pain." Gavin DeGraw really just wiped out on the ice after singing the anthem … #nshvsdal
