"The TV speakers love to try Trump into war with Russia. Here's just one example: Fareed Zakaria is trying to get Trump to prove he's not guilty of appeasement by going to war with Russia Venezuela, "wrote Gabbard on Wednesday in an Instagram post.
Gabbard shared a video of Zakaria, who said a "real pu zzle remains" as he asks why Trump has not been willing to "confront" Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Why has Trump been reluctant to confront Putin in any way with any problem? And will Venezuela finally be the moment when Trump ends his adaptation?" Zakaria asks in the clip.
Russia and the Trump administration are in conflict with Venezuela, where Russia has supported President Nicolás Maduro. Russia has also introduced a military presence in Venezuela, inflaming tensions as it sent about 100 soldiers to the country last month.
Meanwhile, the United States is among a number of Western countries that have recognized Venezuela's opposition leader Juan Guaidó as the country's legitimate leader.
Last week, Trump warned Russia against keeping its military personnel in Venezuela.
"Russia has to come out," told Trump's journalists in the Oval Office while meeting with Fabiana Rosales, Guaidós wife.
