Teachers are not the only professionals to show appreciation this week.

Members of the country’s most trusted profession – nurses – are too.

Featured restaurants across the country are showing nurses a little love by offering freebies and discounts for National Nurses Week, which officially kicks off Thursday with National Nurses Day.

The week goes through May 12, which was the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. The dates for the special offers and participation vary depending on the place.

Dunkin ‘, which has more than 9,000 U.S. placements, has one of the largest offers for Nurses’ Day. On Thursday, health professionals showing their IDs will receive a free medium hot or iced coffee at participating locations.

Cinco de Mayo offer 2021: Get a free Chipotle burrito, free guacamole from ‘The Rock’, and save on margaritas

Chipotle Mexican Grill also provides 250,000 free burrito codes for nurses and healthcare professionals while stocks last.

The analysis company Gallup has consistently identified nursing as the most trusted profession in its assessments of honesty and ethical standards in professions. In the latest poll from 2020, nurses received a record 89% very high / high score for their honesty and ethics, which was four percentage points higher than in 2019.

Nurses Week, National Nurses Day Deals and Freebies

Participation and offers may vary by location. To be on the safe side, always contact your nearest location before going out. Some will also require you to have a restaurant app or sign up for emails.

BAYADA Home Health Care: Through May 12, the non-profit provider will host a “What’s Your Wish” giveaway on, where 50 nurses will be randomly selected to win a prize set. The site also provides access to online expert speaker sessions, panel discussions and a menu of virtual courses where nurses can earn up to seven continuing education credits for free.

Biggby coffee: Nurses will receive a free 16 ounce beverage of their choice on Thursday with a medical ID. While supplies last retractable badge holders will also be handed out.

Chipotle Mexican Grill: The fast-paced restaurant chain provides 250,000 free burrito codes for nurses, medical providers and hospital providers as long as stocks last. Sign up at Chipotle is also offering free buy-one-get-one free codes until Friday as part of a Cinco de Mayo promotion.

Insomnia Cakes: Tthrough May 9, nurses receive a free classic cookie with their work ID, there is no need to purchase it. Or they can get a free six-pack with every purchase.

Dunkin ‘: All health workers get a free medium hot or iced coffee on Thursday when they show their ID. No purchase required.

Jimmy Johns: Get $ 5 off online and order $ 20 or more with promotional code 5OFF20 through June 13th. The discount cannot be combined with other offers or rewards.

Juice it up !: With a medical ID, nurses and other “hospital heroes” will receive a free medium-sized classic smoothie on Monday, May 10th.

McAlister’s Deli: Nurses get a free tea for Friday when they show their badge or ID. Also through Thursday, the chain is taking nominations for a nurse to win free catering on its website. Those who submit a nomination will receive a free tea promotion code that can be used within 14 days, but must be a member of McAlister’s Deli Rewards Program to redeem. The winners will be announced on Friday.

O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar: From Thursday to May 12, nurses get a free piece of pie when they eat in with valid ID. One free piece of cake per. Check and the deal is not valid with any other offer or discount.

Outback Steakhouse: As part of the chain’s Heroes Discount, nurses, doctors, medical staff receive a 10% discount on their check daily with a medical ID. Military veterans, law enforcement, and first responders also get the discount when they show their state or federal service ID.

Parking space: From Thursday to May 12, nurses will receive a 25% discount on airport parking and a 10% discount thereafter on the nation’s largest parking company near the airport with 37 lots in 22 U.S. cities. Sign up for the “Healthcare Heroes” discount at

PDQ: Through May 13, customers who purchase 10 or more packed lunches receive a $ 1 discount on each box.

Staples: Healthcare professionals and first responders receive a 25% discount on purchases made with Staples with their ID and coupon code 50668, which can be found in the weekly ad. Some exceptions apply.

Tijuana Apartments: Nurses get free admission on Friday by using the code TYVM2575 at checkout. Valid ID must be presented when you arrive at the restaurant to pick up the order, and the maximum value of the free item is $ 9.99 plus tax. The chain says it may have a limited menu online and in the restaurant’s app this week due to “projected high order volume”, but the items that appear unavailable online or in the app can be ordered in person at restaurants.

Zaxby’s: The chain of more than 900 locations in 17 states is offering nurses with valid IDs a buy-one-get-one Big Zax Talk Meal Thursday while supplies last.

More offers: Individual franchises from national chains may also have freebies and offers for nurses. Locally owned businesses will also honor nurses, and one of the easiest ways to find out is to check out the restaurant’s social media channels.
