The Milwaukee Bucks have reached agreements with free agent striker Bobby Portis and guard DJ Augustin on Saturday.
Portis agreed to a two-year $ 7.5 million deal with the Bucks, Priority Sports ESPN’s agent Mark Bartelstein told Adrian Wojnarowski. Milwaukee, meanwhile, also reached a $ 21 million deal with Augustin, sources told Wojnarowski.
Portis’ deal includes a player option for the second year.
He became a free agent when the New York Knicks turned down the $ 15.75 million team opportunity in the 2020-21 season. He had signed with the Knicks as a free agent in June 2019 and averaged 10.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 66 games during his lone season in New York.
Portis has also played for the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards over his five NBA seasons, averaging 10.2 points and 5.9 rebounds for his career.
Augustin found a home in Orlando the last four seasons with an average of 10.5 points and 4.6 assists per game. Match for the Magic last season while watching regular time run the point.
He comes out of a season where both his field goal percentage (39.9) and 3-point percentage (34.8) took significant declines. And he has logged a lot of miles since he was the ninth overall pick in the 2008 draft, averaging 72 games across his 12 NBA seasons.
Augustin, who turned 33 in November, can provide a veteran scoring presence from the bench.
