Following the launch of whipsaw, Filecoin looks set for a week-long conference on stability

Two days after a whiplash-inducing launch that saw Filecoin’s FIL token rocket 118% before an almost 80% jump, the blockchain-based data storage platform is now turning to a week-long digital conference in hopes of fixing the ship.

Billed as “Filecoin Liftoff Week”, the event is centered on education, infrastructure, interoperability and future plans for the project. From October 19, 2020, the five days of programming with a different theme will begin each day, such as “Build” and “The Future.”

Included among the high-profile speakers are ConsenSys founder Joe Lubin, who will participate in a fire chat on “Bridging Filecoin and Ethereum,”

; and Internet Archive founder Brewster Khale, who will discuss “the importance of data preservation.” Other speakers include Aave CEO Stani Kulechov, Codefi Head of Product Corbin Page and Polychain Capital founder Olaf Carlson-Wee.

October 20 “Mine” Day will be a special highlight for potential miners. The programming will be devoted to Filecoin mining lectures, workshops and panel discussions. Filecoin’s mining system provides greater rewards for miners who provide storage space for the network; the independent miner Benjamin Hoesjbo will also provide a tutorial.

Community members have also been invited to submit their own “events and celebrations” to be added to the official programming. Participants can watch the full programming here.

The event comes as the FIL asset seeks to find a bottom after reaching a high of $ 208 on October 15th. It is currently trading at $ 42.52.

Despite the leap, the Filecoin team remains optimistic about the project’s future prospects.

“This is just the beginning of the Filecoin network,” reads the blog post.
