“We know who you are if you’re out there and FBI agents are coming to find you,” Wray said during an inaugural security briefing at Washington Emergency Management Agency headquarters with Vice President Mike Pence.
“My advice to people who may be inclined to follow in the footsteps of those who participated in the kind of activity we saw last week is to stay home,” he added. “See what happens now with the people who were involved in the siege of the Capitol.”
Inauguration security
Wray also said the FBI has “confidence” in its preparation and security around next week’s inauguration.
“Our posture is aggressive. It will remain so through the inauguration. So in that direction, we and our partners have already arrested more than 100 people for their criminal activities during last week’s siege of the Capitol and continue to pursue countless other related investigations.”
Wray warned that the FBI has seen a “comprehensive” talk about the inauguration, adding: “Together with our partners, we are assessing these threats and what kind of resources we should use against them. Right now, we are tracking calls for potential armed protest.”
