Dr. Anthony Fauci said Friday that he agrees with new guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which recommends returning to personal school for children this fall.
“I think the message from the CDC is clear and I completely agree with them,”; Fauci told CNN. “We want all the kids back in personal classes this fall.”
The guide sets personal learning as a priority in the autumn, although not all mitigation measures can be implemented. It also encourages vaccination for all eligible persons.
“Depending on the age of the children, some will of course be vaccinated, others will not. Those who are not vaccinated should wear masks, ”said Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “The CDC says they want to maintain the distance at three feet, and if they can’t, they have to work around, do other things, provide good ventilation.”
“The message is loud and clear: come autumn, we want the children back in school,” he added.
