Falcon and Winter Soldier’s last trailer sets up the series’ big fight

Falk and winter soldier is four episodes in, and it’s already a complicated story of power, violence, justice, and that America Cap’s red white and blue shields really represent. But the new trailer that Disney released on Monday also reminds us that the series is nearing the end in just two episodes.

The new trailer consists almost exclusively of footage that has been on the show so far, with one major exception: In the last few seconds, we get a shot of John Walker, the new Captain America standing in a warehouse with Bucky and Sam facing him. In other words, Disney and Marvel are teasing the showdown that we all knew was coming.

But even though this fight was obvious, there are plenty of loose ends and questions that are not. Eg. Is John Walker really the last super soldier? Where did Zemo go after fleeing Dora Milaje shortly? What will happen to Flag Smashers and Karli Morgenthau, with whom the show seems to sympathize so much in the first four episodes?

Nearly two dozen previous stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will suggest that New Cap will be defeated, Karlis̵

7; violent means will ruin her noble goals, and that Sam will feel bad for her but still deliver the easiest version of “justice” that the show can handle. That would be a disappointing ending for a series that has been willing to play by the moral margins of MCU in the first four episodes, but it’s also likely, given the open nature of Marvel’s mega-franchises.

Then again, with only two episodes left, and a Power Broker still left to be revealed, perhaps Falk and winter soldier will follow up on its ambitious setup. So far, the show has spent a significant portion of its time giving the characters their own unique views on issues and letting them explain valid, reasonable arguments for their opinions. It would be a difficult web to solve in just two episodes, so maybe the show shows us to draw a few of our own conclusions about right and wrong.
