EU lawmakers vote to give daylight saving timeout

T he European Parliament voted 410 to 192 to abandon summer time, the half-yearly tradition of changing the time of hours over an hour with a planned implementation in 2021.

However, the vote was not binding, will drive The discussion between EU member states to abandon the practice that goes on. EU legislation currently requires all members to move the observed time back one hour in the fall and beyond one hour in the spring.

Most US states also follow summer time except Arizona and Hawaii. In recent years, other states have been pushing to move away from the system that emerged as a way to expand the light of summer time to save electricity.

Lawmakers in states across the United States are beginning to get bored with the idea. So far this year, legislators in 26 states have introduced bills that seek to make time permanent. Federal law allows individual states to make determination, unlike the EU.

President Trump signaled support to finish the exercise, tweeting this month: "Making Daylight Save Time is permanently O.K. with me!"
