Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant has rejected his $ 31,500,000 player opportunity and will become an unlimited free agent, league sources told ESPN.
Durant's business manager Rich Kleiman informed Warriors general manager Bob Myers about the decision in recent days.
Durant and Kleiman are together in New York where they have mulled Durant's freedom of choice. So far it has been a pretty secret process.
Durant is still considering a number of scenarios in the free agency, including a return to Golden State, says league sources ESPN. New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and LA Clippers are also thought to be considerations, sources say.
Durant, 30, can sign a four-year, $ 1
Durant, a two-time NBA Finals MVP with Warriors, suffered a demolished Achilles tendon in Games 5 of the finals on June 10 and is expected to spend 2019-20 season to fully rehabilitate the injury.
Each team pursuing him is still expected to offer him a full maximum contract.
