With the 2019 NFL Draft in the books, unabated free agent signatures failed to resist, we begin the terror with immediate grading.
So let's see what these qualities hold for the Arizona Cardinals.
Pro Football Focus: Excellent
What they said:
Arizona apparently drafted with Pro Football Focus 2019 NFL Draft Guide to hand 1 and 2, starting with PFF No. 1 overall player Kyler Murray. .. PFF's top cornerback and No.6 overall player, Byron Murphy is a steal by choosing No. 33 for the cards … Another PFF favorite, Massachusetts wide receiver Andy Isabella has achieved the highest overall class we ever given a recipient in the PFF College era
Doug Farrar: B +
What he said:
First overall election Kyler Murray was one of the best drafters in the NCAA last season and new recipients Hakeem Butler and Andy Isabella were great deep-seated in college. Gaining marginal election value for Josh Rosen charges this draft a bit, but this offense gets something … Getting to Washington cornerback Byron Murphy with the first round second choice may be stolen by Arizona's draft and one of the steals of the draft overall.
Washington Post: B-
What They Said:
There is no problem getting enchanted with Kyler Murray, Heisman Trophy winning QB and taking him with the first pick. Maybe he'll be a star; Maybe he won't. He's worth taking the shot. But by using top 10 footage at QB & # 39; in two straight drafts it is not possible to build a grid. The cardinals only got a low second round pick in this draft and a fifth-rider next year for Josh Rosen a year after surrendering a portion to move up to pick him up 10. It is not exactly resourceful. Being able to get Byron Murphy, perhaps the best CB of the draft, to lead by the second round was good value.
Chad Reuter: A
What they said:
Coaching in the NFL is difficult enough without going up a quarterback you believe in. Josh Rosen may succeed in Miami, and I hope he does, but taking Murray first was the right move for Kingsbury and Cardinals … Murphy has good ballroom skills and instincts and he and Patrick Peterson will make a strong back-up duo on outside. Moving the rose to a late second round pick was fantastic, given the circumstances. By using this choice, Isabella will be questioned by some wars, especially with 2018 second-round Christian Kirk already playing a similar role on the team. Getting Allen in the third was great – he's a Calais Campbell-type bargain, giving his everybody down.
MMQB: A (or B, including letter character deduction for Josh Rosen Trade )
What they said:
Otherwise, the rest of Arizona was draft sterling. WR Andy Isabella has vertical speed plus the explosive displacement to thrive from the castle as we imagine will be a predominantly quick strike during Cliff Kingsbury. Hakeem Butler is a monster target, some like a late first round view. The addition of these two to a desperate lack of reception corps does wonders for the offense … At the defense, Byron addresses the Murphy pick-up 2-corner track, which has long been problematic to Patrick Peterson, and supports the slot position, which is now in the recent acquired ex-Falcon Robert Alford … The front seven were reinforced by Zach Allen, who looks like another newly-acquired ex-Falcon, Brooks Reed. It was also a pleasant surprise to see free security Deionte Thompson still on the table in round 6.
Another round of good feedback to the Arizona Cardinals on their early return to the 2019 NFL Draft.
