Life in Hollywood is certainly different from what it is in Berkshire. When Meghan Markle started dancing Prince Harry, it was a drastic lifestyle adjustment. The duchess seems to have adjusted quite well and maintains a royal presence – despite his scandalous family – and royal rules.
But how much did the former actress go behind? Did she completely cut out social media when she closed all her accounts at the beginning of 2018 or does she have a personal Instagram account?
Meghan Markle had a strong social media presence before meeting Prince Harry
Prior to becoming the Duchess of Sussex, Markle had a far-reaching online presence. In addition to the traditional social media accounts, the former Suits actress also drove his own lifestyle blog called The Tig.
Markle started The Tig in 2014 and used it as a way to inspire and communicate with his followers. On her blog she shared lifestyle tips, recipes and insights into her personal life.
In 2017, she probably closed at the invitation of the Royal Palace and posted a farewell message on the blog's website. In her message, she wrote that her passion project had "evolved into a fantastic community of inspiration, support, fun and passion." She encouraged her followers to "continue to find these Tig moments" and thanked her readers for making her days brighter.
Shortly after she closed her blog, Markle disabled and emptied all her social media accounts. Although no official reason for deleting its online presence was given, it is likely that the palace did not want to be any fluttering information as easily accessible. In addition, the royal family would probably have control over what the Duchess shared with the public.
New fans seeking to read old postings from the Now-Duchess are primarily unfortunate as all content has been removed. However, loyal supporters have been able to dig some old posts thanks to internet filing tools and have posted blogs online.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry started their own Instagram account
For some, it seemed as if the creation of the @sussexroyal Instagram account was a way for the Duchess to get back on social media. But the move was not out of the norm for the royal family. Prince William and Kate Middleton have their own Instagram account (@Kennsingtonroyal) like the Royal Palace (@theroyalfamily). The accounts are often used to update the public on current affairs and share photos of public events.
Meghan and Harry have not used their Instagram page as much as many followers want. Since the opening of the account in April, the couple has shared less than 50 positions. The couple, however, shared some intimate pictures with fans, including never before seen pictures from the couple's 2018 wedding. On Father's Day, the couple shared a picture of their new son's face for the first time.
Fans have been wondering since the creation of the account that Markle himself is the one who runs the account and notes more details that seem to prove that the Duchess is behind the records. Several people have pointed out that the posts tend to use American spelling for words. In a post readers entered on the word "diapers" used instead of "diapers".
Does Meghan Markle have a personal Instagram?
While many fans want to speculate that the Duchess has some secret social media presence, there is no sign that she is actually doing. Any profile that claims to be her is false. While she could maintain one outside the private view, it is very unlikely. There is no reason why Markle has her own account and it would not make sense for her to go against royal protocol for such a trivial reason.
