STUART, Fla. – A forensic psychologist says that a former college student believed he was "half-dog, half-man" when he violently attacked a man and woman in their home and was found to bite one of their faces.
Palm Beach Post Reports Dr. Phillip Resnick concluded in a 38-page mental health report released this week by Martin County State Attorney's Office.
Investigators say they found Austin Harrouff, now 22, biting John Stevens' face, while ditching sounds were produced on August 15, 2016.
Resnick's report says Harrouff continued with biting Stevens "in the presence of police officers, despite threats of being shot, relieved, and receiving more kicks to the head, suggests that Mr Harrouff was actively psychotic."
Harrouff's lawyers are preparing a defense of defense on 4 November.
