Goodness, is it already season 14? Fate 2The season of Splicer kicks off on May 11, with players hacking the Vex network from within, revising the stunning Vault of Glass raid, and changing their appearance with an overly complex transmog system.

Season 14 seems to be about the annoying Vex. The old metal warriors threaten to throw the last city out in an endless night, and the only way to stop them (apart from endlessly shooting at them) is to hack the network. For this purpose Mithrax, Kell of the House of Light, will teach the Guardians the way for a Sacred Splicer to take down the Vex simulation and restore the light. The Guardians will hack the Vex simulation in a six-player match-made match called Override, reveal secrets and steal Vex code. In the weekly pinnacle mission Expunge, they exploit vulnerabilities in the Vex network to collapse from within.

May 22 sees the Vault of Glass raid back, the site of some of my biggest failures as an original Fate player. Again, the Guardians will be tasked with navigating cracks in space and time to find Atheon, Time’s Conflux, and take it out before it gets too powerful. Players can expect several quality of life changes in the Vault to bring it up to speed with modern Fate Game. Maybe it’s finally my time. Probably not.

All this plus the long awaited ability for players to transmog armor, creating their own signature style by creating Universal Ornaments via a process that hurts in my head to read about.

Look up The season of the Splicer page for more information on all this Vex hacking goodness.
