Deschutes County’s 3,140 70+ COVID vaccine appointments are completed in just 2 hours

County receives 3,140 first-dose vaccines; Phase 1a, teachers also eligible

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – The Oregon Health Authority was awarded 3,140 COVID-19 vaccines for the first dose to Deschutes County this week, so the county on Tuesday scheduled vaccination agreements for those 70 and older.

It only took two hours to complete all the schedules.

“Agreements for adults 70 years and older are now full,” the update said at. 11. “We expect to have information on the doses next week on Friday.”

“When the availability of the agreement reopens, we expect to start scheduling appointments for adults aged 65 and over,”

From Tuesday at 9, adults 70 years and older were able to schedule an appointment online or by phone to receive their first dose of vaccine at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center in Redmond.

To schedule a vaccination appointment for adults 70 and older:

  • The easiest and fastest way to sign up for an appointment is to schedule online at www.stcharleshealthcare.org/covid-vaccine-scheduling-seniors.
  • If you are having trouble signing up online, watch this video describing the online sign-up process for appointment.
  • If you do not have access to a computer or do not have someone to help you sign up for an appointment online, please call 541-699-5109. The staff is available from 9 to 17, seven days a week. Please wait for call or call back as this line is experiencing high call volumes.

Those who qualify as Phase 1a or Phase 1b Group 1 are asked to submit an attestation form online. Staff will reach out to qualified individuals to plan their vaccine appointment.

Federal Retail Pharmacy Program

Some Central Oregon retail pharmacies offer the COVID-19 vaccine to qualified groups through the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program for COVID-19 Vaccination. There will not be enough vaccines to vaccinate all qualified Oregons in these places due to the limited supply. Appointments may be available by visiting:
